Len Yauk On A Community Once Known

The Parry Sound Victory School Commemorative Project gave all involved an opportunity to explore the unique history of Victory School.  Serving the area for 97 years Victory School would witness several changes in our community, the education system and our world.

The history of Victory School reflects an era of education that seems all so long gone now.  In this interview, Len Yauk, who held positions of Superintendent and Director of Education of the former West Parry Sound Board of Education, speaks of the nature of our education system in the last one hundred years.  He reflects on how the school was once the hub of the community.  Those small schools are disappearing one by one today, and are replaced by giant, mega schools.
